Blue Valley West and Southwest Orchestras Tour Hawaii

I cannot say thank you enough for the fabulous experience members of the West and Southwest Orchestra and I shared while in Hawaii. While a tsunami was not one of our planned experiences, I was most impressed with the concern shown for our welfare in dealing with this potentially devastating event by all members of the MCI staff. We were kept well informed and felt all possible precautions were taken to ensure our safety. Continue reading

Taylor University Orchestra in Ireland

The experience was greater than any expectation I/we could have had…to take in the beauty of the land, the warmth of the people, the hospitality of a nation, the wonder of sharing music and the Gospel to a world in need – all of this combined to make a journey of a lifetime. Continue reading

Duxbury High School Music Department Performs in Carnegie Hall

“The Duxbury High School Music Department, including the Chamber Singers, String Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble, toured New York City in February that included a stand-alone, featured performance for each ensemble on the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Over 1,100 tickets were sold for this outstanding performance…” Continue reading

Preucil School of Music String Orchestra Plays for China’s First Lady

“The Joint concert at the Central Conservatory of Music was a once in a lifetime experience with Madame Peng (China’s First Lady) in attendance. It was not what we were expecting, but we are not complaining. Having our students hear a concert by orchestra students from the top conservatory in China was an excellent experience for them, but having to play after them was a bit unnerving. Fortunately our students rose to the occasion and played really well. Our performance on the Great Wall was also wonderful…” Continue reading

Overlake School String Chamber Orchestra Returns From New York City

“I give Robert (the Tour Manager) an 11 on a scale of 1-10. He was great from the minute we got to baggage claim, to the time he dropped us off for our trip home. Everyone on the tour bus enjoyed his mix of history, facts, humor, and knowledge about NYC. That he was from NYC made it even better for me. He described the 9/11 Memorial, and the day that the Towers came down with such poignancy that it was a morning to never forget. He let the kids share their thoughts after taking in the reflective fountains, which was an emotional time for all of us. The whole touring time was awesome. All the different buildings, churches, Harlem, and of course Time Square were presented so well! His flexibility was appreciated as well…” Continue reading

Sussex County Youth Orchestra Tours Switzerland, Austria, and Italy

“Concerts were all that we have come to expect from MCI. Well promoted, good venues and good turnout of enthusiastic people. By the way, [the concert at the Mozarthaus in] St Gilgen might even be more dazzling than [the concert in the Loggia dei Cavalieri as part of Estate Trevigiana and the American Celebration of Music in Italy in] Mayrhofen. The concerts were the main reason for switching to MCI in the beginning, and you did not disappoint. Hats off to Helmut Wondra and to Dan Schwartz for coordinating…” Continue reading

Valley String Orchestra & A Cappella Choir Has a Great Time in France

“Wow! I don’t even know where to begin!! What a great time we all had in France – truly an incredible trip, amazing performance venues, memories to last a lifetime!! Patrick, Francoise, and Mary Agnes were top-notch at taking care of us during the entire time. Francoise had us in tears a couple of nights we were laughing so hard. Everything went like clockwork. I heard the assistant orchestra director say these were the best tour escorts they had ever had, and although I don’t have the benefit of comparison, I have a hard time imagining tour escorts that would be better!!” Continue reading

Lawrence Free State High School Orchestra Clinics with Col. Arnald Gabriel in Washington, DC

“Our clinic with Col. Gabriel was a delight. Many of my students have worked with him at Midwestern Music Camp here at the University of Kansas. He was familiar face and we all had fun. Our performance at the Fairfax was very well received. What a charming audience we performed for that evening!” Continue reading
